The Coventry & Warwickshire Healthcare system is aware of issues affecting the national Covid-19 testing programme which are preventing people with symptoms from getting a test.
Although these issues are out of our control, we are able to provide the following guidance for anyone affected:
Try requesting a test via the national online testing system at specific times of the day – early morning or after 8pm.
If you have Covid-19 symptoms, self-isolate for 10 days or until you are able to get a test result.
Ensure your household members self-isolate for 14 days until you or they are able to get a test result.
Do not contact your GP or NHS111 as they are unable to assist.
As is being reported in the national media, the current issues within the testing programme are the subject of intense focus and it is hoped that local testing capacity will improve as soon as possible.

- Blood Tests – If you require a blood test, you can book an appointment across the City at various locations. Social distancing is being observed within these clinics so please do not arrive prior to your booked appointment time. Thank you
- Mental Health and Wellbeing – If you have a low mood or are feeling anxious please visit www.nhs.uk/every-mind-matters or www.nhs.uk/stress-anxiety-depression. We remain open and are here to support all our patients. Please do call 02476 592012 (option 1) and book a telephone appointment if you feel you need any additional support.
- Social Support – If you require any additional support at home during this time we are able to link in with NHS volunteers and various other charities. Please call and discuss your needs with a doctor who will be happy to see if any available resources would meet your needs.
- Clinical Trial – A clinical trial exploring treatment for the COVID-19 virus is taking place. If you are eligible you will have received a text message from the surgery. This is for patients in certain age brackets and/or with certain existing medical problems only. Patients must be experiencing a new or worsening continuous cough and/or a high temperature and have had it for less than 14 days and are not starting to feel better.
